A formal teaching affiliation is established between
Harding Hospital and The Ohio State University, enabling
Harding residents to rotate through University Hospital
services and attend lectures at Upham Hall taught by
Ohio State faculty.
The Division of Child Psychiatry is created at Ohio State, patient rooms in
Upham Hall are remodeled for use as an outpatient child psychiatry clinic
and a liaison program with Children’s Hospital (now Nationwide Children’s
Hospital) is established. R. Dean Coddington, MD, is the first director.
